Neil Hoban commenced a career in Industrial & Automotive Coatings QC + R&D just six weeks after leaving school in 1985! After working for 11 Years a as Level 5 Senior QC, QA, and R&D Technician for ICI World Powder Group, progressed to field-based Technical Support & Application Technologist to the Global Automotive Coatings Division of Ferro Europe, part of FERRO Corporation, a Global leader of Alloy Wheel Primers and the original producer of the first GMA Acrylic Powder Coatings! After taking voluntary redundancy from Ferro in March 2003, a coatings consultancy business was formed, called House of Hoban Ltd, created to serve the requirements of any and all coatings producers and end-users experiencing problems or issues.

In August 2005, after being involved for approx. 1 Year as a freelance agent and customer support partner, FreiLacke UK Ltd was formed by mutual consent, in conjunction with FreiLacke GmbH, becoming a healthy standalone Subsidiary. FreiLacke GmbH is currently Europe’s largest producer of approved genuine OE Powder & Liquid Coatings, and also has for 10 years produced an OE approved in-house formulated GMA Acrylic Powder Lacquer. Having built the UK business to approx. €4 million t/o per annum by early 2011, and partly due to the time constraints of running both businesses to a successful end, a difficult decision to resign from FreiLacke resulted in HOH Ltd concentrating on Plant removals and relocation works, application system retro-fits, DSEAR Risk Assessments and H&S advice with respect to Potentially Explosive Atmospheres, new Plant Design and of course the installation of Alloy Wheel Remanufacturing Systems.
